Static charge accumulation presents a serious problem in many sensitive manufacturing processes. Static charges are often dissipated in uncontrolled ways that can damage product or cause process equipment failures. Auditing of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) measurement and prevention systems plays an essential role in any static control program. New technologies, such as GMR head manufacturing, and new techniques in semiconductor device manufacturing demand thorough ESD awareness and static measurement and control programs. Controlling ESD to lower voltage levels and continuous monitoring are industry trends that need more accurate and refined static measurement capabilities. Trek's electrostatic measurement technologies address that need and provide desirable alternatives to fieldmeter technology and its drawbacks.
Trek offers two types of technology within the electrostatic voltmeter (ESVM) product line. Trek's DC Feedback ESVM utilizes technology that provides very high accuracy, fast speed of response and the capability to measure very small surface areas with no arc over. The AC Feedback ESVM is a unique design that addresses some of the problems associated with an electrostatic fieldmeter. Trek's technology delivers accurate measurements over a wide range of probe-to-surface spacings (compared to fieldmeters being limited to one specific spacing); it can also measure smaller surface areas than fieldmeters. (more information comparing Trek ESVM technology to Fieldmeter technology can be found in the EOS/ESD Brochure, 1.29 MB PDF file)

Trek’s Model 900A is a diagnostic tool used to identify incidents or verify suspected areas of ESD activity. A voltage sensitive antenna on the unit can be positioned in ESD sensitive environments to detect problem areas of electrostatic discharges.
Model 900A
The Model 542A-1 electrostatic voltmeter has a voltage detection and measurement range of 0 to ±10 kV. The Model 542A-2 has a voltage detection and static measurement range of 0 to ±20 kV. These models have an exceptional 5% reading accuracy, ±0.2% of full scale, over the probe to surface separation distance of 15 to 30 mm for the Model 542A-1 and 30 to 60 mm for the Model 542A-2. Model 542A (includes probe information)

The Model PD06078 contains four (4) Electrostatic Voltmeters in a single enclosure. Each channel features a measurement range of 0 to ±10 kV and accuracy better than 5% reading plus ±0.2% of full scale over the probe to surface separation distance of 15 to 30 mm.
Model PD06078 (includes probe information)

A twenty by four (20 x 4) alphanumeric LCD screen displays the present measured voltage, the positive peak voltage value, the negative peak voltage value, and additional menu information. Two specific voltage detection ranges are available. The Model 541A-1 electrostatic voltmeter has a voltage measurement range of 0 to ±1 kV. The Model 541A-2 has a measurement range of 0 to ±100 V. Both models have exceptional 1% accuracy and 0.1% resolution. Model 541A (includes probe information)

Electrostatic voltmeter measurement range is 0 to +1 kV or -1 kV DC (switch selectable). Features include a 3 1/2 Digit LCD display, a Battery Test Switch, and a DC-Stable probe with side viewing aperture orientation. This model offers low noise and a durable design.
Model 706B

This product line accurately measures surface voltage at a wide range of spacings; no need to maintain a fixed spacing. Enables inspection of small spots for static charge accumulation and also measures charge accumulation in difficult-to-reach locations.
Model 520 Measurement Range is 0 to ±2 kV DC
Model 523 Measurement Range is 0 to ±20 kV DC

The Trek Models 876 and 884 Hand-Held Electrostatic Voltmeters provide accurate, noncontacting measurements of electrostatic surface voltage for ESD applications in either ionized or non-ionized environments.
Model 876 Measurement Range is 0 to ±2 kV DC.
Model 884 Measurement Range is 0 to ±20 kV DC.

Trek’s new Electrostatic Voltage Sensor, Model 875, is designed for in-line monitoring of electrostatic charge build-up, which if left unchecked would disrupt manufacturing processes and/or cause product degradation and early life failure of semiconductors and other charge-sensitive components.
Model 875 Measurement Range is 0 to ±500 V.
