Electrostatic discharge events are important factors in environments where electrostatic interferences are detrimental to a given manufacturing process such as in the semiconductor or LCD industries.
Trek’s Model 900 is a diagnostic tool used to identify incidents or verify suspected areas of ESD activity. A voltage sensitive antenna on the unit can be positioned in ESD sensitive environments to detect problem areas of electrostatic discharges.
Trek’s Model 900 ESD Event Detector alerts and displays information concerning electrostatic discharges. Upon an ESD event detection, an audible buzzer automatically sounds for two seconds (or it can be switched OFF) while five (5) color coded LEDs visually depict the intensity level of the event.
Resetting the unit is either performed automatically or manually through a front panel switch. The unit can be powered 5 to 7 hours from batteries or a power cube can be used for continuous AC line operation.
Trek’s Model 900 ESD Event Detector is CE compliant.
Detection levels:
5 LED indications
(Antenna sensitive to input voltage)
1st LED: Yellow
2nd LED: Yellow
3rd LED: Yellow
4th LED: Red
5th LED: Red
Reset Button
Clears all previous measurements.
External Monitor
When connected to a buffered circuit, the output signal can be displayed during detection activity.
Buzzer (ON/OFF)
In the ON position, the buzzer will sound at detected voltage and turn off when the reset
button is pushed.
Auto Reset Switch
When switched ON, the Model 900 will automatically sound and reset the LEDs after a short period of two seconds, when an ESD event occurs.
Power Indicator
A red LED is illuminated when the power is ON.
