Model 400 ELECTROSTATIC VOLTMETER

New! The Trek Model 400 Electrostatic Voltmeter (shown above with optional bail feature) represents the next generation of DC-stable noncontacting, precision surface voltage measuring instruments which incorporates the exclusive Trek vibrating reed probe sensor and provides new features not previously available with any other electrostatic voltmeter instrument. These features include:

An automatically flat (no over/under shoot) response characteristic which is both fast and independent of the probe to measured surface spacing over a distance range of 1 mm to 3 mm, thus eliminating the need for a user operated response/gain control.

A front panel pushbutton or rear panel external TTL input signal initiates a zero capability which provides up to ±10 volts zero level correction, thus eliminating the use of a manual zero control.

Model 400 product options include operation with standard probes only, operation with high speed probes only, and operation with both standard and high speed probes, with or without a bail.

For models that operate with high speed probes, a Noise Null potentiometer is available to null the output noise to the lowest value.

Probe-to-Surface Separation
1 mm to 3 mm (recommended).

PRODUCT FEATURES

  • Zero Control
A momentary push-button switch or external TTL low signal initiates an auto zero function. The auto zero range can null up to ±10 V (referenced to input).

    Digital Enable
An open collector, TTL compatible input to enable or disable the unit’s high-voltage measurement. A TTL high will disable while a TTL low will enable the measurement.

    Voltage Display
    3½ digit LED display.
    Range
    0 to ±1999 V.
    Resolution
    1 V.
    Zero Offset
Less than or equal to ±1 count.

    Voltage Monitor Output
A BNC provides a buffered low-voltage replica of the measured voltage.
    Scale
1/100th of the measured voltage (standard).
1/200 and 1/1000 scale factors are also available.
    Output Current
    ±5 mA (minimum).
    Zero Offset
Less than or equal to ±0.003 V.
    Output Impedance
    Less than 0.1 ohm.
